To take the proper and responsible precautions, we will be implementing the following guidelines:

  • Please bring and wear your own kippa (and talit if possible).
  • Services will be held in a larger hall to accommodate social distancing (in the VFW 32 Gleneida Ave Carmel NY.)
  • Use hand sanitizer as you enter (will be provided).
  • Masks will be worn during services (masks will be provided).
  • We will be maintaining social distancing (seats will be separated from each other, except for members of the same family).
  • The Torah will not go around to be touched or kissed.
  • Aliyos will be given from your seat, without approaching the bima.
  • Please leave your machzor on your seat when done, so they could be wiped down after services.
  • (If you would prefer to borrow a machzor for your personal use in shul for the duration of the holidays please contact us before Rosh Hashanah.)
  • There will be no kiddush luncheon after services (pre-packaged cookies and cold individual water bottles will be available).
  • At-risk individuals (based on age or immuno-compromised or others), or those who live together with them, should get approval from their doctor before coming.
  • If you do not feel well (or have had the following new symptoms within the last 14 days) you must stay at home. Symptoms include: a cough, shortness of breath, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, or loss of taste or smell).

Due to Covid, Rosh Hashanah services will be significantly shorter.
For Yom Kippur those who are more comfortable joining a shorter service, can join for 1 hour of services.

Rosh Hashana: 10:00-11:30am
Yom Kippur: 11:00-12:00pm

During the above mentioned hour, services will include Torah reading, selected prayers, children's program, the Rabbi's sermon, and yizkor memorial service on Yom Kippur.

Wishing everyone a happy and safe holiday, and a Shana tova!
